In Memoriam – Kaye Hall

Join us for a celebration of her life on June 25, 2024, 10 am -12 pm at Kennedy Park’s Redwood Pavilion, 2295 Streblow Dr., Napa.

Anyone in the community is welcome to come celebrate the lives of Kaye and Chuck Hall at this casual gathering.

Kaye Hall was an amazingly positive and multi-talented person who was also a long-time (close to 60 years) Democratic activist, most recently serving on the Napa County Democratic Central Committee and volunteering with the Democrats of Napa Valley on phone banks, texting, and post carding for all of our crucial national elections.  She was also very involved in the environmental community and was dedicated to working on climate change initiatives.

Kaye was passionately involved in search and rescue with her beloved Belgian sheepdogs which she would also train for this demanding role.  She was both an AKC tracking judge for TD, TDX, and VST and also a mission ready trailing handler for the California Rescue Dog Association and a Canine Captain with the Napa County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team.

Kaye also wrote, illustrated, and published a children’s book Stop and Stay Put: A Guide to Safer Adventures Outdoors about a search dog that is designed to teach children (and their parents) how to be safer in wilderness settings.

In addition, Kaye was also an accomplished artist. She went back to school and received her associate degree from Napa Valley College in Fine Arts, Painting in 2014 which added to her previous education where she received her BA in Biology and Spanish in 1959 from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MSW, Social Work in 1964 from the University of California, Berkeley.

She and her husband, Chuck Hall, started the Napa Valley Marathon in 1979 (and she completed 6 marathons herself).
